Lalarifa Women's Welfare Society was established in 1991 in Kashmir, J&K. The primary objective then and now is the adoption of programs and policies that will advance the economical, social, health and educational status of rural and urban women in Kashmir. Looking back, considerable progress has been made over the years through the determined efforts of volunteers and many others involved.

Good intentions coupled with financial resources are needed to bring about relevant changes in women's lives. Violence and various forms of discrimination against women, in public and private sectors need to be curbed.

Lalarifa Women's Welfare Society has a special role in acquiring and sharing skills that will allow women to support themselves and provide a better life for their families.
